The workshop will offer an introduction to decorative tapestry weaving, with a particular emphasis on techniques that will allow you to create texture and three-dimensional motifs. These techniques will be learnt whilst creating our own three-dimensional tree weaving on a specially designed art loom, which when complete, will act as a frame for your creation. Skill Level: Confident beginner/intermediate; the techniques that you will learn are well within the capabilities of a beginner, but can be a little fiddly, so best for those with plenty of patience!

There are no patterns to follow or rules to break in this workshop, which takes a fun approach to Free Form Knitting. As long as you can cast on, cast off and do a plain knitting stitch in between, you'll be able to make a small piece of knitting which can be displayed as a wall hanging or taken away to be developed as a personal project. A selection of knitting sticks, crochet hooks and yarns will be available for use on the day.

This workshop is a gentle introduction to making stitched and mixed media art maps. We'll start by expressing landscapes, seasons and memories using snippets of poetry or collection of words before embellishing painted canvas with slow stitched embroidery. You are welcome to work with photographs or special objects which remind you of a particular place, person or occasion. Fabrics, threads and other stitchery resources will be available for use on the day.

Relax and unwind by learning how to use a pegloom to create beautiful, soft tactile woolly items. The course is suitable for all ages, complete beginners welcome. All materials are provided to create a seat pad during the morning. Washed fleeces available to continue creating on your loom. All the wool is from British Native breeds.

Workshops can be run from the farm also, at times to suit the students.

Have a go at weaving on a small 4-shaft loom that will be warped with plant-dyed Shetland wool and ready for you to start. Instruction will enable you to try out different twill patterns to weave a length of wool fabric and make it into a hat or small project bag. Suitable for beginners. Join me in my small studio in Llangybi near Lampeter, Ceredigion, to learn the basic ‘wet felting’ technique and create a simple design or landscape using Merino wool tops. No previous experience is needed – just bring a simple image, picture, photo or drawing to inspire you and a packed lunch too! Space is limited so the maximum number I can teach at any time is 2 people but I’m also happy to teach one-to-one.

Come and learn how to make your own Macramé plant hanger. Using colourful Jute twine we will make a hanger from scratch using beginner's level knots. Learn something new at this half-day workshop, and go away with a gorgeous plant hanger for your home. This workshop is accessible to all skill levels, and is suitable for children from 8yrs. if accompanied by an adult.
